AT&T is making it easier for prospective subscribers to try its network before making the switch. Following in Verizon and T-Mobile’s footsteps, the carrier has finally introduced a trial plan that lets you easily compare its service with your current subscriber for up to 30 days.
With its new “Try AT&T” plan, you can now easily download an eSIM on your device and test connectivity, call quality, data speeds, and coverage. The trial plan gives you access to 100GB of data, unlimited talk and test, 256GB hotspot data, unlimited text from the US to more than 230 countries, and access to AT&T’s 5G network for up to 30 days, so you can thoroughly test everything before subscribing.
If you’ve been thinking of switching to AT&T, you can download the myAT&T app on your phone and select the “start your trial” option. Alternatively, you can visit AT&T’s free trial website and scan the QR code to get started. Sadly, the trial plan is currently only for iOS users with support for iPhone XR and newer devices. AT&T plans to extend the trial offer to Android users next year but has not shared a release timeline yet.
AT&T says (via CNET) that this is a no-strings-attached trial plan, so you can sign up without sharing your credit card info or a credit check. However, once the trial is up, you’ll have to wait 12 months before trying it again.
