A Satechi M4 Mac mini stand and hub promises to let owners of the new ultra-compact desktop Mac add up to 4TB of fast SSD storage, together with an SD card slot and three USB-A ports.
The upcoming device will be similar to the model already available for the previous generation Mac mini, but don’t expect to take delivery any time soon …
The existing model costs $100, but Satechi hasn’t announced either pricing or exact availability for the new model, saying only that it will be available sometime in the spring of 2025, and you can register now for a 20% discount on whatever the price turns out to be.

The spec seems very similar to the current model.

While going all-in on legacy USB-A ports might seem an odd choice for a 2025 product, the Mac mini itself does offer two front-facing USB-C ones.
Two of the ports are USB 3.2, supporting 10Gbps, while the third is a plain old USB 2.0 port offering a far more sedate 480Mbps.
Satechi says the SSD slots support most current SSD card sizes:
- 2230
- 2242
- 2260
- 2280
The slots support transfer speeds of up to 10Gbps.
