Play the Classic Sci-Fi Shooter “Marathon Infinity” Free on Steam

The classic science fiction FPS (First Person Shooter) game “Marathon Infinity” is now available to play for free from Steam, for Mac and Windows.

Marathon Infinity, originally released in 1996, is the third game in the Marathon series, and continues the theme of battling hostile aliens in unusual settings. Marathon Infinity introduced some intriguing and innovative gameplay ideas that were certainly unique for its time, like time travel and non-linear storytelling. The first two Marathon games are also available free to play on Steam, and you can get them all free here from the Aleph One project if you’d rather not use Steam too.

If you’re a longtime Mac user, you may have fond memories of playing the Marathon games in the mid 1990’s on something like a Macintosh Performa or Power Mac, and now you can relive those gaming moments on your modern Mac (or PC) thanks to Steam. Who doesn’t love a little retro gaming fun?

And while we’re focusing here on the Marathon games being available as free to play for Mac and Windows, if you have an iPhone or iPad you can play them too, without Steam, by simply downloading them from the App Store onto your iOS/iPadOS device. That’s pretty cool too, eh?
