Mobilicom Ltd. this week launched its next-generation 8-inch Controller Pro, the latest addition to its line of ground control stations. The Shoham, Israel-based company said it aims to address the needs of a market currently projected to experience a compound annual growth rate of 22% between 2023 and 2030.

“We believe that our 8-in. Controller Pro has the potential to be transformative for the uncrewed systems and robotics sector,” stated Oren Elkayam, co-founder and CEO of Mobilicom. “It delivers a unique blend of power, portability, and affordability that the industry demands, opening new possibilities for mission success across various applications.”

The provider of cybersecure robots and drones asserted that the market for tactical handheld ground control stations (GCS) is growing. It attributed that to demand from commercial enterprises, as well as increasing government deployments of small drones, robots, and loitering munitions in global conflicts.

“Importantly, we are aiming to address a critical unmet market need for a rugged, durable product that is U.S. National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA)-compliant at a highly competitive price point, an essential requirement to enable high-volume scalability for both the defense and industrial markets,” Elkayam said.

Mobilicom 8-in. Controller Pro ready for multiple missions

Mobilicom said its new Controller Pro is IP65-rated, radio-agnostic, and NDAA-compliant. It is powered by Intel Core i3, i5, i7 processors, which the company said deliver robust performance for mission-critical operations.

The mobile 8-in. (20.3 cm) platform also includes Windows 11 Integration for more versatile multi-application performance.

To make the system easier to use, Mobilicom equipped the GCS with a configurable layout. Users can customize controls, including joysticks, programmable buttons, sliders, and the glove-compatible touch screen. The system also comes with scalable memory and storage.

The company’s portfolio includes cybersecurity software, hardware, and professional services to power, connect, guide, and secure drones and robotics. Mobilicom also offers the 10-in. Maxi Controller Pro, 10-in. MCU Extreme, 10-in. Touch P, 10-in. Touch G, 7-in. Mini Controller Pro, and 7-in. RVT.

Mobilicom announced the 8-in. Controller Pro at the Commercial UAV Expo in Las Vegas this week. The company said it has deployed its technology with more than 50 customers, including some of the world’s largest drone manufacturers.

In June, Mobilicom announced that a leading loitering munitions provider placed a follow-up order on its 10-in. GCS. The company said this Tier 1 customer is a prime vendor for Lockheed Martin in the U.S. and a major vendor of defense systems sold to over 40 countries, including the European Union and NATO member countries.

With the customer, Mobilicom’s GCS supports multiple drone operations, both swarm and fleet, with various payloads.
