Apple has released macOS Sonoma 14.7.1 and MacOS Ventura 13.7.1 for Mac users who have not yet updated to MacOS Sequoia, of which MacOS Sequoia 15.1 with Apple Intelligence was just released.
macOS Sonoma 14.7.1 and macOS Ventura 13.7.1 both contain many security fixes, making them important updates to install for Mac user who are remaining in macOS Sonoma or MacOS Ventura. Sonoma and Ventura Mac users will also find Safari 18.1 to update.
Aside from updates for the Mac, there are also updates available for iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, iOS 17.7.1, iPadOS 17.7.1, tvOS 18.1, watchOS 11.1, and visionOS 2.1.
How to Download & Install MacOS Sonoma 14.7.1 Update or MacOS Ventura 13.7.1
Be sure to backup using Time Machine or your method of choice first, then proceed with a software update:
- From the Apple menu choose “System Settings”
- Go to “General” and then to “Software Update”
- Below the MacOS Sequoia banner, look for the small “Also available” section and then click on the very small blue text that says “More Info…”
- Make sure that MacOS Sonoma 14.7.1 or MacOS Ventura 13.7.1 is selected, along with Safari 18.1, and choose “Update Now”
The update will download and install, and the Mac must reboot to finish installation.
