macOS Sequoia 15.3 beta 2

Following a holiday beta hiatus, Apple has just released macOS Sequoia 15.3 beta 2. The update is currently available only for developers, not the public beta, and is rolling out now.

Highlight of macOS 15.3 is Genmoji addition

macOS Sequoia 15.3 received its first beta release back in December, shortly after the public launch of macOS 15.2 and its big new Apple Intelligence features.

That first 15.3 beta included one noteworthy addition: Genmoji support.

Apple shipped iOS and iPadOS 18.2 with the new Genmoji AI feature, but the Mac was initially left out.

Fortunately, Mac users didn’t have to wait long for their own Genmoji feature. It’s available in beta now, and the public launch of 15.3 is expected to be only about a month away.

What to expect from beta 2 and installation details

Other than Genmoji, macOS 15.3 beta 1 didn’t contain much in the way of changes. It’s possible Apple was holding off on big updates since beta 1 shipped right before the holidays.

However, if Apple follows the pattern of last year’s software updates, it’s also possible this will simply be a smaller-than-average release.

We’ll keep you posted as we dive into beta 2 on any changes we discover.

To install the latest beta, visit the Software Update section of the Mac’s System Settings app.

Make sure that beta updates are turned on, and that you’re set to receive developer beta releases.
