Today, Jamf is kicking off its 15th annual Jamn Nation User Conference (JNUC) in Nashville. Joined by key partners, including Apple, Jamf will unveil its latest innovations, showcasing how Apple management and security can seamlessly integrate to deliver an experience both end users love, and organizations trust. Read on to learn all about the JNUC 2024 announcements.

“In today’s environment, support of hybrid and remote work is the norm and the need for protecting one’s environment is a must. Jamf recognizes the responsibility of an Apple admin has only grown more complex,” said John Strosahl, CEO of Jamf. “That is why we are focused on offering the most complete solution to empower admins to be Apple heroes. Each announcement we’re unveiling throughout this year’s conference is aimed at making management and security easier for the teams who want to see their organizations succeed with Apple. We’re streamlining the user experience, making compliance easier than ever to achieve, and even providing each customer with a seasoned Jamf expert to be by their side 24/7 – our AI Assistant. Together we can go further.”

Declarative Device Management updates

Declarative Device Management streamlines policy enforcement, paving the way for a more secure and efficient future. Jamf already supports declarative workflows like managed software updates and Apple Watch management, and today introduced its latest innovation: Blueprints. Initially launched for Jamf Now 10 years ago, Blueprints are now available in Jamf Pro and Jamf School. This future-ready solution manages device settings, commands, app installations, and restrictions using a declarative approach.

With this intuitive and powerful framework, Jamf can provide same-day support for Apple’s latest features faster than ever before.

Jamf brings its apps together into a single, unified platform with the launch of Self Service+

Jamf has introduced Self Service+, a reimagined version of the Self Service app that customers know and love. This redesigned platform offers the same essential functionality with a more streamlined experience, consolidating the key features that users value into a unified application portal.

In addition to offering a company-branded, curated selection of apps and content, Self Service+ will soon allow users to access all notifications in one trusted hub, including critical security alerts from Jamf Protect. Employees no longer need to switch between multiple apps to stay informed or access tools—they can now enjoy a secure, personalized, and intuitive experience that enhances productivity and builds trust in a single interface.

Advancing management and security with compliance benchmarks in Jamf Pro

Leveraging the macOS Security Compliance Project and Jamf Compliance Editor, Compliance Benchmarks in Jamf Pro streamlines the process of building, managing, auditing, and reporting on CIS benchmark compliance. Apple admins need the right tools and expertise to lead successful security initiatives across all devices under their management. Today, Jamf is announcing Compliance Benchmarks in Jamf Pro.

Initially available for macOS, Compliance Benchmarks will soon extend to iOS and iPadOS platforms.

AI Assistant in Jamf

At last year’s JNUC, Jamf introduced its vision for an AI-powered solution and gathered valuable feedback from customers. Today, Jamf unveiled the next phase of that solution: AI Assistant. This powerful natural language interface, featuring retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), will be available in beta soon, with full functionality and integration into admin portals expected by early 2025.

AI Assistant leverages a comprehensive knowledge base powered by RAG and integrates directly with Jamf’s product APIs. This enables AI Assistant to gather, analyze, and deliver the most relevant insights—essentially acting as a 24/7 Jamf expert to support information management and decision-making for greater efficiency.

“AI Assistant will have the ability to decode and contextualize security alerts, providing context about its severity and potential impact, suggest next steps, and take direct action, while keeping a human informed and in control,” said Beth Tschida, Chief Technology Officer at Jamf, during today’s keynote presentation. “Within seconds, AI Assistant provides a thoughtful response, drawing from its vast knowledge base that includes product documentation, training material, wisdom from Jamf Support trenches, Jamf Nation and more.”

Ensuring safe learning environments inside and outside the classroom

Jamf supports 42 million students across over 40,000 educational institutions worldwide. Jamf Safe Internet, one of Jamf’s most popular and trusted products, just became even more powerful with the introduction of Time-Based Policies. This new feature allows admins to apply controls like content filters to protect devices at home or customize settings for broader use, such as for an entire family.

Additionally, Jamf announced the launch of Blueprints in Jamf School, empowering admins to manage software updates declaratively, scheduling them at times that best suit learners’ needs.
