Is TikTok about to get banned in the US? It’s now up to the Supreme Court

TikTok is running out of options to avert its impending US ban. But one of the only points of hope yet has just come through. The US Supreme Court has agreed to hear TikTok’s arguments against the forthcoming ban. Here are the details.

Per legislation passed by the US Congress and signed by President Biden, TikTok will soon be banned in the US unless ByteDance sells its US stake in the social app.

Up until now, ByteDance’s various challenges have all come to nothing.

But there’s one more legal avenue for averting the impending ban: the US Supreme Court.

Today, the Supreme Court formally agreed to hear the case on Friday, January 10, 2025.
