iOS 18.2 beta 3

iOS 18.2 beta 3 is here. The update is now rolling out to developer beta testers and it comes after last week’s release of the second beta. iOS 18.2 will be released to everyone in December and includes new Apple Intelligence features, upgrades to Find My, and more.

iOS 18.2 beta 3 is available to developer beta testers with build number 22C5131e. A new version of the public beta will likely be released later this week. iOS 18.2 is available for all iPhones that are capable of running iOS 18. Apple Intelligence features, meanwhile, are limited to the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and all iPhone 16 models.

iOS 18.2 includes the second round of Apple Intelligence features:

  • Image Playground allows you to create “fun images in seconds” by typing, offering two styles: Animation and Illustration.
  • Genmoji lets you generate custom emojis based on text descriptions.
  • When you interact with Siri in iOS 18.2, you now have the option to access ChatGPT.
  • The Writing Tools feature now offers a “Compose” button to generate text related to your chosen topics. There’s also a new “describe your change” option for Writing Tools.
  • Visual intelligence utilizes the iPhone 16’s camera control to help you learn more about the things around you.
  • Image Wand in the Notes app let you turn rough sketches “into delightful images” and create images using context from the rest of your note.

In addition to Apple Intelligence features, iOS 18.2 also includes the new Mail app that sorts your email into four different categories: Primary, Transactions, Updates, and Promotions.

iOS 18.2 also brings an upgrade to the Find My app with support for sharing the location of a lost AirTag with someone else.
