visionOS 2.2 beta 2 is rolling out now for developers. Apple’s forthcoming software update brings a big upgrade to Vision Pro’s Mac Virtual Display feature, which is available now for beta testers.
visionOS 2.2’s upgraded Mac experience is highlight of release
Vision Pro users have long praised Mac Virtual Display as one of the device’s best features.
In visionOS 2.2, that feature is getting a significant upgrade.
The new Mac Virtual Display features:
- higher screen resolution than before
- new Wide and Ultrawide display options
- and audio routing that goes directly to Vision Pro
These changes were available in last week’s first beta of visionOS 2.2, and you can try them out in today’s beta 2 release too.
It’s unknown if Apple has made further refinements to Mac Virtual Display in today’s new beta, but we’ll be testing it out and keep you posted on anything we find.
visionOS 2.2 is currently only available to beta testers with an Apple developer account. Apple doesn’t offer a public beta for Vision Pro.
However, if you’re eager to try the new Mac Virtual Display upgrades but are hesitant to install a developer beta, you won’t have to wait long.
Apple will ship visionOS 2.2 to all users in just a few weeks, with early-to-mid December the expected release date.
