Apple released iOS 18.2 earlier this week, with ChatGPT support, Image Playground, Image Wand, and Genmoji. However, the latter image generation features required a waitlist, one that many found themselves stuck on. A small number of users gained access quickly, but the vast majority have been waiting, unable to access the new features.
However, a decent wave of users have reported gaining access today.
On Friday, Apple made a statement to developers, writing that the rollout would occur “over the coming weeks.” Although that made it sound like it might take a while, it seems that the wait might not be too bad.
A number of users on social media have started reporting gaining access to the feature set in the past hour or so, as well as some people I know personally who were unable to access the features when the beta rolled out on Wednesday.
That being said, I imagine there are still a number of users who don’t have access yet. If anything, this is just a good sign, signaling that Apple won’t take forever to get to those who didn’t get the features on day 1.
Did you gain access to Genmoji and Image Playground today, or are you still on the waitlist? Let us know in the comments.
