Applied Motion Products Inc. last week introduced a new remote-control module designed to enhance the usability of its CSM34 Conveyor Smart Motor. The CPBD-A-C module allows conveyor operators to remotely configure motion profiles, monitor system status, and manually jog the conveyor to the desired position, it said.

The remote control module, which can be attached to the back of the CSM34, offers greater flexibility in conveyor system operation by eliminating the need to be physically near the motor. The CPBD-A-C module is powered by the motor itself, eliminating the need for an additional power source, according to Applied Motion Products (AMP).

The integrated control panel and status display on the motor enable operators to configure, control, and monitor the system in real time without the need for external controllers or wiring, the company said.

Operators can adjust the speed of the motor on the fly without stopping the system. Applied Motion Products added that they can remotely configure speed settings at their convenience.

A five-digit, seven-segment display on the CPBD-A-C module provides motor status information, and push buttons allow for quick configuration and manual jogging of the conveyor system. Finally, the module can be easily mounted on a control panel, making it readily accessible to operators.
