The fourth public beta version of iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and MacOS Sequoia, is now available to beta testers. The 4th public beta builds match the 6th developer beta builds.

Beta system software is intended for advanced users and is generally a buggier experience with less than optimal performance, but anyone can install iOS 18 public beta on iPhone, iPadOS 18 public beta on iPad, or MacOS Sonoma public beta on a Mac if they’re curious about the upcoming operating systems.

How to Install iOS 18 Public Beta 4 & iPadOS 18 Public Beta 4

  1. Open the Settings app on iPhone or iPad
  2. Go to “General” and then go to “Software Update”
  3. Select “Update Now” to install the fourth public beta for iOS 18/iPadOS 18

iOS 18 for iPhone and iPadOS 18 for iPad include various new features, including a new Calculator app for iPad, a dedicated Passwords app, new Dark Mode theme icons, the ability to color tint your icons and widgets, Game Mode for iPhone, the ability to customize Control Center, a confusingly redesigned Photos app that is still changing during the beta process, Apple Intelligence AI features for writing and summarizing, and many other little features and changes.

How to Install macOS Sequoia Public Beta 4

  1. Go to  Apple menu and choose “System Settings”
  2. Go to “General” and then select “Software Update”
  3. Choose “Update Now” for MacOS Sequoia public beta 4

As usual, installing any system software update, beta or otherwise, requires a reboot.

MacOS Sequoia 15 for Mac includes a Passwords app, new wallpapers and screen saver options, iPhone Mirroring to interact with your iPhone from your Mac, Apple Intelligence AI features, amongst various other smaller changes and refinements to apps like Safari, Photos, Notes, Mail, Messages, and more.

The final version of iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and MacOS Sequoia 15, will be released this fall, according to Apple.
